IB Exhibition
What is the IB Exhibition?
The PYP Exhibition (often called PYPx) is a culminating, student-led project in the final year of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme. It requires students to independently investigate a real-world issue, apply their transdisciplinary skills, and present their findings to the school community.
Students take full ownership of their learning while being guided by faculty mentors. Key components of the exhibition include:
- Student Agency: Students choose their own topics and decide how to research and present them.
- Collaboration: Students typically work in small groups or as a full class to investigate broad, transdisciplinary themes (e.g., "Where we are in place and time" or "How the world works").
- Taking Action: A mandatory element where students apply what they’ve learned to make a real-world impact—such as raising awareness, teaching younger students, or creating solutions to local problems.
- Learner Profile: Students demonstrate attributes of the IB Learner Profile, such as being principled, open-minded, and reflective.
Ultimately, the exhibition serves as a celebration of the students' growth and knowledge accumulated throughout their primary education.
